Editorial Policy
How we decide what goes in the review and how we keep it accurate.
Where information comes from
We start from the retailer’s own published pages (policies, help articles, investor materials) and add independent reporting from named sources. Where a figure comes from a third party, we say so. Where a number is not published, we say that instead of guessing.
How scores work
Scores out of ten are editorial judgments on five criteria: selection and tools, price competitiveness, clarity of returns and policies, support and trust signals, and marketplace safety. They are opinions, not measurements, and we explain the reasons next to each score. Customer-review ratings from third-party sites are reported as context, not used as our score.
Dating and checking
Each page shows the date we last checked it. Retail policies change often, so treat older pages with caution and confirm with the retailer.
Tools
We may use software tools, including AI-assisted writing and editing tools, to help draft and proofread text. A person reviews and approves what is published and checks figures against their sources.
Independence
We are not sponsored by Newegg or any competitor. See the Advertising Disclosure.
Corrections
If you find an error or an outdated figure, tell us through the contact page. We recheck the source, correct the page and update the date.
